As the core mechanical equipment of underground trenchless engineering, the design and manufacture of the casing and cutterhead of the pipe jacking machine are directly related to the performance and operating efficiency of the whole machine.
The casing of the pipe jacking machine is made of carbon steel structural parts, which has excellent strength and stability. Its casing is usually welded by steel plates, and a grid frame is set inside. Steel materials are mostly welded to the inner surface, which greatly enhances the stability of the casing and makes it not easy to deform. At the same time, several cross reinforcement frames are distributed along the axial direction, connected to the casing or grid frame, which effectively reduces the mid-span bending moment and the deformation effect of the soil on the casing during construction, ensuring safe operation under complex geological conditions. In addition, the pressure-resistant outer layer is generally made of steel material and coated with epoxy anti-corrosion paint. The inner cavity is successively provided with a high-temperature resistant layer (composed of metals such as tungsten and molybdenum) and a moisture-proof layer (including a breathable cotton layer and a desiccant), so that the casing integrates the characteristics of pressure resistance, corrosion resistance, high temperature resistance, and moisture resistance, and adapts to various harsh working environments.
The cutterhead also uses carbon steel structural parts and is a key component for the pipe jacking machine to cut soil. Different types of pipe jacking machine cutter discs have different designs. Common ones include roller cutter and cutter cutter discs. The cutter head is mostly cylindrical, half of which is fixed in the turntable, and the turntable can rotate in the shell. The blade of the cutter head is fixed on the partition and is used to cut the soil. With the help of devices such as the soil discharge plate, it can efficiently cut and discharge the soil. In order to adapt to different strata, the power and structural design of the cutter disc are different. For example, the cutter disc suitable for rock strata will be equipped with a large torque reduction box to enhance the rock breaking ability.
The shell and the cutter disc cooperate with each other. The shell provides stable protection for the operation of the cutter disc and the internal equipment, and the cutter disc breaks the ground at the front end to open the way, which together help the pipe jacking machine complete complex engineering tasks such as underground pipeline laying.
