The shield tail is at the end of the shield shell. Its main function is to cover the assembly of the tunnel segments and prevent groundwater, mud and grouting materials from pouring into the shield machine. The shield tail consists of an annular outer shell and an inner sealing device. The annular outer shell is generally made of high-strength thin steel plate to reduce the annular gap left after the shield is advanced. The sealing device mostly adopts a wire brush plus a steel plate pressure plate structural parts and is filled with sealing grease. It has good elasticity, wear resistance and sealing, and can effectively adapt to the slight displacement and deformation between the shield tail and the segment.
